Our next Gothic Fantasy anthology is focused on all things Folklore Horror, and we're delighted to announce the list of authors included in the book! Available from August 2026 and featuring a foreword by Maria J. Pérez Cuervo, it is packed full of fantastic short stories on the theme, encompassing global mythologies and classic horror rooted in folklore as well as new and recent stories by authors writing today. This was a hugely popular submissions round and we are grateful to the hundreds of authors who submitted stories for consideration – many congratulations to the selection below:

We’re excited to announce the authors featured in our new anthology: Wars in the Stars Short Stories! With a foreword by Lisa Yaszek, this latest science fiction anthology publishes in August 2026 and contains thrilling tales of battles across galaxies. It joins our expansive Gothic Fantasy series: beautiful hardbacks that combine classic fiction on each theme with fantastic modern stories selected from submissions. We’re delighted to announce the stories and authors included in our upcoming book, The Valkyries! Exploring themes of war, honour, duty, glory, fate and more, seventeen tales selected from open submissions focus on the fearsome Valkyries of Norse mythology. Available from April 2026, the book also features a foreword by Jóhanna Katrín Friðriksdóttir and an extended introduction by Nancy Marie Brown, discussing the classic stories and mythological roots of these fascinating warrior figures. Selected from open submissions, eighteen tales by modern authors retell Odysseus’ life and journey, imagining alternative paths, deeper backstory and different viewpoints for this famously cunning wanderer of Greek myth. With a foreword by Edith Hall, and an extended introduction by Silvia Montiglio exploring the original sources and historical perceptions of Odysseus, this latest volume promises to be a real treat. It publishes in April 2026, alongside The Valkyries.
