Myths, Gods & Immortals | Contents Announcement | Loki

Posted by Gillian Whitaker

We’re delighted to announce the stories and authors included in our upcoming Loki book! Selected from submissions, eighteen brand new stories see their first publication here, from authors inspired by this trickster god from Norse mythology. Available from June 2025 in the UK (July in North America), the book also features a foreword by Tom Birkett and an extended introduction by Matt Ralphs, exploring the early tales and history of this enduring character. We’re ever grateful to all authors who submit to our anthology themes, with congratulations to the selected contributors below.

About the Series

Discover the mythology of humankind through its heroes, characters, gods and immortal figures. Myths, Gods and Immortals brings together the new and the ancient, familiar stories with a fresh and imaginative twist. Each book brings back to life a legendary, mythological or folkloric figure, with completely new stories alongside the original tales and a 30,000-word essay which emphasises ancient and modern connections, tracing history and stories across continents, cultures and peoples. New and emerging writers from open submissions reveal hidden themes, casting fresh perspectives on well-known stories, alongside the specially commissioned story of the origins and the cultural background from the era. Titles in the series so far are Medusa, Odin, Anansi, Circe, Morgana le Fay and Achilles.
