Today we are looking at the three titles being released this week from FLAME TREE PRESS. With two brand new releases and one new to Flame Tree title, we're kicking off the year with some amazing stories. To kick off this week’s series of blogs to celebrate out January releases, we talked to Daniel M. Bensen about his new book, Junction. 2018 was an incredible year for us and we are so excited to now move toward our 2019 list. From award winners to first time writers, 2019 will see our mission of showcasing original voices and publishing FICTION WITHOUT FRONTIERS continue. We can't wait to share the list for the entire year with you, but for now we are focusing on our January, February, March and April titles. From science fiction and crime to horror and fantasy, the first 4 months of the year are full of books that bridge a variety of genres. The launch of Flame Tree Press in 2018 has seen us release 13 books! With a mix of crime, thrillers, horror, science fiction and fantasy, the list encompasses a wide variety of themes and offers something for everyone. We are so happy with the stories we've helped our authors to tell, the quality of the books themselves and the response from readers. We didn't expect such huge engagement and so much enthusiasm so early on in our own story. We thought we'd take a minute and look back at all 13 titles from the 2018 list from Flame Tree Press. 

To end the year on a high, we're delighted to present the list of authors set to feature in our upcoming short story collections: American Gothic, and Urban Crime. Following swiftly on the tail of Haunted House, and Cosy Crime, these latest books join our Gothic Fantasy series, and similarly combine classic tales with contemporary stories received by submission. Again, our call for submissions was met with an overwhelming response, so we're excited now to share this final selection! From Urban Crime's thrilling city dangers to the downright unsettling breed of horror running through American Gothic, this latest pair of anthologies promises a healthy dose of the fascinating and strange in 2019. In this week’s blog we are completing our look at The Trio of horror! After looking at vampires and Frankenstein and his monster we turn our attention to werewolves. With a global history spanning hundreds of years, werewolves have been terrifying people for millennia. In this blog we trace their history in folklore to modern horror fiction.

Rather like Dracula and vampires, Frankenstein’s Monster has become the name and face for a character type: the reanimated corpse. In this blog post we are looking at the conception and history of the character and the use of Frankenstein in horror fiction to learn a little more about one of horror's finest creations and the reach it has had. 

We're leaving our 2018 list behind us and looking toward the new year. We are very excited to bring you 24 brand new titles and another 12 that are brand new to Flame Tree Press. We're starting the year with a great mix of science fiction, crime and horror that we can't wait for you to read!
