FLAME TREE PRESS is the trade fiction imprint of Flame Tree Publishing, with editorial offices in both London and New York. We publish globally in the English language, in print and ebook formats and audiobook, with a focus on excellent writing in horror and the supernatural, crime and mystery thrillers, and science fiction and fantasy. Our aim is to explore beyond the boundaries of the everyday, finding new pathways for the imagination, with tales from both award-winners and original voices. This month, there are three books arriving in Hardback, Paperback, Audiobook and eBook on Thursday October 18th and in todays blog we are meeting the writers behind the books!

The new action thriller, Mile 22, centres on an elite secret service team who carry out secret operations in what is intended to be a very secret manner but never seems to end up being that secret. The elite nature of this team is touted throughout the film but how does it fair when a mission doesn’t quite go to plan? 

The latest film from Paul Feig sees him take on a rather different genre to his usual fair. This genuine thriller, featuring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively as its leads, is full of the comedy you would expect from Feig’s films without sacrificing the tension of the story. 

The launch list for 2018 brings together brilliant new authors and the more established; the award winners, and exciting, original voices. We're so happy with the launch of our September titles and we are so glad that so many people are loving the books, but there's more to come this year. Don D'Auria, Flame Tree Press's executive editor, is a legend in the horror fiction community. He has been editing horror for the past 25 years, coming to prominence when taking the lead of Leisure Books horror line in the late 90s. Launching authors like Brian Keene and Sarah Pinborough, now household names in the genre, D'Auria also brought authors like Ramsey Campbell to a new generation of readers. Now, with Flame Tree Press, Don D'Auria is once again seeking out fresh and original talent while also bringing award winning writers to new audiences. Don recently spoke to Becky Spratford to discuss where horror was, where it is and where it's going? Searching is the new thriller that features Jon Cho as a father in distress and Debra Messing as a stern police officer trying to help him. The story plays out entirely on a computer screen as Cho chases leads to find his missing daughter.

Incredibles 2 is the long awaited sequel to the 2004 smash hit superhero movie. I think it’s easy to forget how good of a superhero film the first Incredibles was. It came in era when the only real superhero films were the Sam Rami Spiderman films and the X-men series. It predated the Marvel Cinematic Universe and even the Christopher Nolan Batman films and doesn’t get quite enough credit as a superhero film separate from being an animated film.
